3 Garden Workshops

We are offering three linked workshops in The Studio garden in June as part of Surrey Artists' Open Studios 2019. They'll be on three Sunday mornings, 2nd, 9th and 16th June 11am - 1.30pm, with a different activity each week. Come to all three and you'll get a discount! (Book now to guarantee your place via the 'shop' button above or click here.)

Week 1 Sunday 2nd June Cyanotype - an exploration of the exciting Victorian 'blueprint' technique called Cyanotype.
Special Half-term Offer - BRING YOUR KIDS FOR FREE!
This a pre-photography chemical process that uses UV light from the sun to create exquisite blue images on paper or cloth. The effect is magical, capturing fine botanical detail. Workshoppers will be able to use plants and flowers from the Studio garden to make their own series of unique prints. All materials provided. (N.B. This is a wet process so old clothes or an apron are recommended)
All adult booking include up to 2 children under 14 for FREE. Over 14 charged as adults. Not suitable for under 8s. Book here to secure your place.

Week 2 Sunday 9th June Bookbinding - folding and binding your own hard-cover 'concertina' sketchbook using archival quality art paper and fine linen book cloth. Those who created cyanotypes on book cloth the previous week will use these to bind their books. All materials and tools provided.
Book here to secure your place.

Week 3 Sunday 16th June Multi-media Collage - fill a sketchbook with charming depictions of plants and flowers guided by fine artist Tania Busschau. She will demonstrate how to use collage, watercolour, ink, pencils and simple print techniques to make wonderful, multi-layered images inspired by The Studio garden.
