Busy, busy, busy at the moment; illustrating another author's book while putting the finishing touches to my third YA novel. I've been rewriting and editing for weeks now but don't want to send it to my editor at Headline until it's perfect... and will blow her socks off! I'm really excited about the climax (unexpected and highly dramatic) and the ending (red herrings, clues and hunting for 'treasure'). I love the drawings too and think they might be my best yet. Nearly there... just one more tweak... and perhaps another tiny rewrite!!
A whole day at The Warwich School yesterday, which was exhausting but loads of fun. Some great feedback on the cover of the next book, Scarlett Dedd. Do hope I get invited back when it hits the shelves. Thanks to Mrs Bulmer and the tech guys for making sure the day went so smoothly. Here are some of the Superhero costumes that I particularly liked...
Thanks to the lovely library staff at the Alexandra and Albert School this week for inviting me for a visit. Here are some of the excellent drawings created in the workshops.
Ember and I spent Saturday afternoon at Waterstone's in Epsom. Plenty of laughs and cool teenagers, who didn't mind being sketched...
Thank you to everyone at St Teresa's for inviting me to your school on World Book Day. I had a great time and particularly enjoyed my tour of the Art Department and the Bread & Butter pudding for lunch. Yum! Here are some of my favourite costume designs from the week...
Brilliant morning at The Priory School. Thanks to everyone for making me so welcome, especially Mrs Hall and the tech boys (great job!). I enjoyed chatting about Ember and the characters in Scarlett Dedd. Terrific feedback from the boys at the front - your comments about the new cover were excellent and gave me alot to think about.
